Who we are
The Yarrow Cookery School is a family run organisation founded by Richard and Sophia. The aim of the school is to share the joy of cooking with all ages and abilities in a simple and personalised way, using seasonal, local and sustainable produce.
Having studied at both the Orchard and Ballymaloe cookery schools, Richard went on to train at Tom Kitchin's newest restaurant, The Bonnie Badger in the heart of East Lothian. Richard has also worked in shooting lodges, ski chalets and private houses, catering for his clients every culinary need.
These experiences created an avenue for Richard to explore teaching, where he developed a passion for sharing his culinary skills in a friendly and relaxed environment. Sophia manages the business, creates the online content and marketing for the School. Richard and Sophia are expecting their first baby in July!

The Yarrow Cookery School is an international cookery school, having taught virtual classes to people in America, Canada and Jersey, meaning proximity to the cookery school and your friends will not stop you being able to enjoy a cookery class.
All classes can be tailored so that you can create the dishes you have always wanted to master and learn at a level that suits you. We offer both short (90 minute - 3 hours) and longer courses. Due to popular demand Richard, our head chef, offers private catering services and will always ensure that all dietary requirements are met.
