How classes work

We offer classes for up to 5 people from our Farmhouse kitchen, online classes and classes from your own home. Our aim is to be as flexible as possible to accommodate our clients. Typically a class length is between 2 hours and a full day. See below for a little more information on each and get in touch via the contact page for all bookings and enquiries.

Farmhouse classes

Our kitchen is based just outside East Linton in the tranquil farm lands of East Lothian. We are a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and a 14 minute drive from North Berwick. Our cosy kitchen can host up to 5 participants while our garden land provides the ultimate sanctuary from a busy life. Join a public class via the book online page or contact us to organise a private session for you and your preferred group.

Your kitchen

If you are in East Lothian, Edinburgh or the surrounding areas, we will bring the cookery school to you! Depending on your kitchen size you can invite anyone you would like to join and decide the length of class you would prefer. We will make sure that you are kitted out with all the equipment you need although one of the best things about learning from home is that you develop skills on the apparatus you use everyday, making the class very transferable to everyday life.

Online

The Yarrow cookery school offers online classes with no set capacity. Having taught classes to families spread all around the world, we have learnt first hand how special it is to get the gang together. In these classes you will have the opportunity to cook together and then enjoy a meal over webcam, proving that distance does not have to get in the way of creating special moments.

We have an array of classes to choose from Greek night to pizza making to cocktails and canapes. All dietary requirements are easily catered for and instructions on how to join and set up webcams are simply given to ensure a smooth and relaxing class.

James Webb - University of St Andrews

“During my time at the Yarrow cooking school I found a completely new gastronomic experience. I was walked through step by step how to make an amazing festive pie, by a top chef that was full of tips and tricks - all in the comfort of my own kitchen!”
